
Wilhelm Burgdorfer Founder of Lyme Disease, Dies
The bacteria responsible for Lyme disease and the crippling effects on more than 300,000 people per year. The spirochete that causes Lyme disease was discovered by Burgdorfer in 1982. His discovery has saved countless lives, spawned more research and explained very unexplainable symptoms for patients.
